The House – A Custom Built Home
The house was designed and built with uncompromised quality by the owner/builder. With 6" stud walls throughout, including all interior walls, custom built beams, AdvanTeck sub-flooring on engineered I-joists, and 11 foot ceilings, this is a heavy house. With an exterior of stone and insect and fire resistant Hardiplank cement fiber siding, the structure is solid.
The house is 3600 sq.ft. with all of the main living areas, about 3000 sq.ft., on one level and a 600 sq.ft. guest suite on the upper level. The kitchen, dining, and family rooms have Brazilian cherry engineered flooring by Harris–Tarkett with Thomasville cabinetry, solid surface countertops, and a large center island. The sunken family sunroom has a 16' full height, beamed and paneled ceiling with skylights. This sunroom/kitchen combination connects through a dining area to a more formal library/living room which in turn leads to a front entrance foyer. There are four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a powder room, and a home office. The bathrooms on the main level and the entry have stone floors.
The unfinished basement is another 3000 sq.ft. which is framed with 9' ceilings for three bedrooms, a large full bath, an exercise room (finished), a hobby room, five large storage areas, and a 742 sq.ft. recreational area.
A main feature of the house is the Architectural Series of Pella windows with transoms and casement openings. All the windows are argon-filled, low-E insulated with UV protection. The windows are dramatic and, in combination with skylights, provide abundant natural lighting throughout the house.
There is an oversized 3 bay garage, with electric doors, that can hold full sized trucks and utility vehicles.
The large master suite has seperate dressing areas, a master bath with a deep Jacuzzi tub, a full size steambath/shower combination, and separate vanities. The bedroom area opens through French doors to a large deck that overlooks the lake.
